New Year's Day at The Integratron, A High Desert Soundbath to Remember
I first stepped foot into The Integratron in the winter of 2007. At the time, the astonishing structure and its sound bath were relatively unknown and it felt like a secret destination in the high desert. But I never kept it a secret, I wrote about it on my former blog Fashion Intel and continually shared it over the years on Instagram encouraging people to make the journey to the Landers, California. I wanted as many people to participate in this one-of-a-kind experience because I understood the type of peace that came with each visit and that kind of feeling shouldn’t be kept to oneself.
Many things have evolved at The Integratron since I first visited 14 years ago but at no time has it lost its essence, which, unfortunately, cannot be said about many spiritual sites around the world due to increased tourism, climate change, and deforestation.
There is an abundance of memories floating in and around this white dome in Landers. When I arrived on New Year’s Day all of my past visits came flooding back which turned my mood introspective. Each time I have been a guest at The Integratron I had either been on a solo mission trying to gain a better sense of self or I was there with a best friend with who I shared a deep connection. It’s the kind of place best experienced alone or with someone you love very much. It’s your energy after all and recharging it is an intimate experience. Now I was here again, starting 2022 with my truest love, and I was ecstatic to share this place with him.
What is The Integratron?
The Integratron was erected in1954 in the town of Landers, California. It’s 8 minutes south of my favorite high desert restaurant, La Copine, and 20 miles north of Joshua Tree National Park. This unique structure is one of one, built with an all-wood dome that was designed to be an electrostatic generator for the purpose of rejuvenation and time travel. Its creator, aeronautical engineer George Van Tassel (1910-1978), claimed to have received telepathic directions from extraterrestrials on where to establish this architectural anomaly along with instructions on how to construct it.
Built upon an intersection of powerful geomagnetic forces and converging waters, The Integratron has the ability to connect with the Earth’s magnetic field, dispersing a charge of energy throughout the space.
The dome is now privately owned and operated by 3 sisters who have diligently worked to restore its beauty over the past 30 years. In the past couple of decades, there has been an emphasis on The Integratron Sound Bath, which is an acoustical experience unlike any other I have ever come across.
What is a sound bath? And why you need one right now.
If you find yourself in the Joshua Tree area, you must book yourself a sound bath at The Integratron.I have experienced many sound baths in my short life on Earth and the unique acoustics at this location elevate the vibrations to a whole other level. In this unforgettable sound experience, one lays back and enjoys the sounds of quartz crystal singing bowls being played live. Each bowl is keyed to the energy centers or chakras of the body, where sound is nutrition for the nervous system.
Although each attendee has their own unique experience, transcendence is highly likely. Deep relaxation, introspection, and rejuvenation are the goals here. This is a sonic healing session and one that I can fully attest to receiving every time. The multi-wave sound chamber fosters an environment that allows both the body and mind to completely relax. Once that occurs, the possibilities are endless. I have experienced heightened thoughts, subconscious revelations, a release of emotions, peace – sometimes all in one session. It’s even more thrilling when I find myself in a hypnagogic state, the consciousness between wakefulness and sleep. It’s here I take deep sits from my creative cup.
