Upon arrival, I was greeted by the stunning views synonymous with the property. The Scribe team exuded a welcoming vibe that resonated with the values and interests that are important to me. In California’s wine region, many experiences feel out-of-date and far from inclusive, but at Scribe, an inviting atmosphere is a priority.

Known for producing vibrant, terroir-driven wines, Scribe Winery is managed by fourth-generation California farmers and brothers, Andrew and Adam Mariani—their dedication to the craft and the land results in an unforgettable array of wines. To book a reservation at Scribe Winery you must first become a member of their Viticultural Society, which is essentially the property’s wine club. The commitment includes four vintner-curated allocations per year, released in the Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. In addition to special pricing on all wine purchases, this membership also includes exclusive access to visit the SCRIBE farm, with up to five guests, and invitations to SCRIBE dinners and events, on the farm and around the country.

The Wine Tasting Experience

During my journey through Scribe Winery’s bottles of vin, I was delighted to taste 5 distinct wines: the 2022 Estate Sylvaner, 2022 Rosé of Pinot Noir, 2021 Estate Hillside Pinot Noir, 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Atlas West, and my favorite, the 2022 Estate Blend Pét Nat. The tasting was paired with a delightful spread of farm fresh produce straight from Scribe’s garden, along with warm homemade flatbread direct from their open kitchen, visible from where I was seated. It felt like a 2024 Nancy Meyers film with a progressive spin.

The culinary spread consisted of Little Gems with SCRIBE Verjus Vinaigrette, Whipped Feta with Summer Tomatoes and Popped Seeds, Smashed Cucumbers with Garden Basil, Blistered Shishito Peppers, and Strawberries. The tablescape was perfection, dawned with delectable plates of colorful produce, gorgeous wildflowers, and overflowing glasses of wine. The strawberries, of the Mara de Bois varietal, were so luscious, I politely asked if I could be served some more. What a delight!
