Mrs. Jacobs

I spent a few years of my life dedicated to Marc Jacobs, probably ages 19 – 24, oh the whimsy of it all!  Though my taste has moved far beyond Marc by Marc Jacobs, I still hold a special place in my heart for dear ol’ Marc.  He has always seemed like a sweet man who took his work very seriously, but definitely made time to cut a rug.  I don’t care that he’s now super tan, ripped and covered in tattoos, because he still seems like that same guy I fell in love with.  Plus, if Marc is happy what do I have to gripe about?

I’m feeling like Marc and I could be sisters in this photo.  I love a man in drag, especially if he is dressed this well.

Sofia

The moment I saw The Virgin Suicides in the theater, I knew I was in love with Sofia Coppola as a filmmaker.  Not only is her talent evident behind the camera, but her sense of style is beyond. She has always embodied a relaxed and confident look, so when I see her name attached to something, I’m delighted to see what it is all about.  By no means am I a Louis Vuitton enthusiast, but when I saw this ad, once again Sofia managed to pull me in with a simple photo.  Apparently, advertising works.

I read something really cool about Sofia today, something I didn’t know.  She and Built by Wendy designer Wendy Mullin are friends and vacation regularly in the south of France.  In her upcoming film, Somewhere, Elle Fanning spends much of the film wearing Mullin’s spring ’09 striped tankdress. I’ve been so looking forward to seeing it.
