Style 2012, v.2

Figuring out an appropriate headline for documenting my style in 2012. These will be recurring posts on this here blog because 1. I’m on top of my Instagram game 2. You seem to like these 3. Great changes in my life have inspired my love for fashion again.

Prints on prints on top of prints, that is my game these days. I am loving these leopard loafers by Steve Madden paired these Polka Dot Harem pants by Forever 21. Since I have been dropping sizes monthly I need to keep my wardrobe on the cheap if you know what I mean. Prepping for summer: floral shorts? Check! New Karen Walker sunnies? Check! I have always been into bright & bold jewelry so I seriously died when I met up with Gypsy Hunter for happy hour. Her turquoise is amazing – will let you know when her online shop opens up! The Guatemalan necklaces are from one of my favorite shops in L.A., located in the Craft & Folk Art Museum.

Keep it stylin in 2012 boo.

Karen Walker’s Little Aliens

Karen Walker Little Aliens Summer 2012

I have a lot of love for Karen Walker’s eyewear, especially for my favorite frame Number One, which you can see me wearing here & here. Last week I was invited to the Chateau Marmont to preview the Karen Walker Little Aliens collection for Summer 2012. Aside from enjoying the beauty of what can be argued as L.A.’s best hotel, I had a lovely time perusing the stylish frames created by my favorite eyewear designer. Even better? Meeting Karen Walker and discussing her love for bunnies, bold looks and the desert of all things! What a creative woman with such a positive vibe.

Trying on dozens of KW glasses was in order. I was not surprised that the Number One clocked in as my favorite yet again. These limited edition gold metal frames (photo below) hits stores this August/September and I must get my hands on them! Champagne was sipped, fashion people talked their fashion stuff but I enjoyed goofing with the glasses and gabbing with the designer’s husband about glitter.

P.S. Can you tell me the name of this incredible succulent?

W H O A, Las Vegas 2012 was one of the best trips I have ever taken and I am so happy I got to spend it with my sister Pam. I didn’t want to leave! Us two girls met up at the Vegas airport and from the moment we walked outside and into the desert air, we were like two Tasmanian devils on the scene. There were so many highlights from our four-day romp, some I cannot share here, but one of the best moments was being the only person sitting on the “stage” at the Tyga performance at Lavo. If you’re reading this T.C., thanks for being such a doll! Running into Tyga & friends at the craps tables was even more exciting.

A big thanks to my amazing sister who helped make this trip possible and for being a true blue roll dog.

Desert Rose

Palm Springs, Ace Hotel, Karen Walker Glasses

I’m in Palm Springs for the amazing two-day Create + Cultivate event hosted by (No Subject) at The Ace Hotel. On Sunday I taught a succulent potting workshop to an incredible group of creative women and had such a blast! I look forward to sharing some photos I snapped of the beautiful creations. I have already met so many radical ladies like Erica + Lauren of Honestly…WTF, Jenni of I Spy DIY, and look forward to Jazzi McG’s natural beauty products workshop today. Needless to say I have been completely inspired!

Here’s a photo of the Karen Walkers I blogged about a couple weeks ago. Thought these sunglasses paired with my reversible poncho (once my grandmothers) were the perfect fit for the desert.
