Cabo San Lucas, Pt. 3

Llama in Cabo San Lucas

Being in Mexico is a beautiful sensory overload.  From the colors to smells to the softness of llama fur, I am enjoying every minute of California Baja Sur.  I don’t even mind that I was stung by 2 jellyfish at the beach as those kinds of things just happen when you’re having fun.  Yesterday we enjoyed at sunrise horseback ride on the beach which turned out to be an exciting two hours. Back at the ranch I fell in love with a few llamas – one of my favorite animals – and this guy here couldn’t help but give the camera a giant sonrisa (smile). Those teeth!

You cannot come to Cabo San Lucas without taking the time to throw back something tasty.  May I suggest the “Happy Ending” at the local bar with the same name.  Nothing is more hilarious than gulping shots with your mom and dad, especially when they look like that.  In case you already hadn’t figured it out, mi familia is a fun bunch.

Eating Tacos in Todos Santos

I promise you that at the end of this trip I will have a taco tally which in which I will reveal how many of these hand-held pieces of greatness I consumed over 7 days.  Yesterday marked six tacos alone, so you can only imagine what the final total will be.  Maybe I should give away a prize to the person who guesses the closest.  What do you think?  Tripas have never tasted so good.

Can I mention what this weather is doing for my skin? Never has it felt so plump and moist, I am in love.  Not combing my hair and instead letting the ocean do the job has also become a daily regimen of mine.

Cabo San Lucas, Pt. 1

Baja Sur a vibrant tapestry hanging in our room

We have arrived safely at la Hacienda Encantada in Cabo San Lucas and I am pretty sure my skin is beginning to turn a beautiful caramel brown with just two days under the sun.  Our stunning resort is located on the Sea of Cortez and while swimming in the infinity pool I spotted a gang of crabs hanging on some rocks. Relaxation is my only option and I am loving it.  No phones, no work, and just quality time with my family in this beautiful beach town.

Lots more photos to come this week, I promise.

Of course I’m going to touch on how delicious the food has been thus far; I’ll have a few taquerias and marisco spots to share before this week is over.  This morning’s breakfast was enjoyed on a cliff over-looking the ocean.  Tropical fruit and granola is a perfect way to start the day … if it also paired with frijoles, huevos y salsa. Yum!

This photo has incited so much laughter and a little fear among our party of 6.  My mother, sister (pictured) and I spotted this in a stall and went bananas over this mask.  My sister was convinced she could fit it on her tiny head and lo and behold she did.  Hello Kitty Lucha Libre, you never looked so amazing.  Check out that Cinderella on the right!
