The LA Food Swap is one of my favorite things happening in this wonderful city. Every month, sometimes every-other-month, makers and artisans of all things tasty come together to share the food they’ve grown, preserved, cured, pickled, or liquified. Before each event, my mother and I put our heads together to figure out what we’re going to bring to swap as we always try to keep it interesting. For the summer edition, we decided to make chili oil, plum jam and of course, my famous lemon curd – all fruits grown in our bountiful yard of fruit trees. This swap was most definitely one of my favorites, the crowd was super friendly and we left with an a basket filled with home cured bacon, granola, white fir syrup, fresh eggs, homegrown eggplant, and dill pickles. Nothing tastes as good as homemade.
I just got word that the next swap is August 18 and there is already a waiting list. Sign up here!
