Boo! It is October 1st and I couldn’t be more thrilled. This time of year always brings me so much joy as pumpkins find their way into every corner, treats are in abundance, and of course the major switch to fall fashion. I’ve already got so much planned for this season, and I’m not ashamed to say that I’ve been buying Halloween goodies since September 1st. In my family Halloween was a holiday not to be taken lightly – that meant serious costumes, major home decoration and sweets galore! Not much has changed as we’ve all been keeping the tradition alive…or should I say dead? Bwah-ha-ha.
This shot from the new Barneys catalog couldn’t be more perfect in marking the 1st day of my favorite month.
What do you have up your sleeve this October?

When I saw this ad (Directed by Roman Coppola) posted in a friend’s tweet (hey Jackie!) yesterday I went totally nuts! Jason Schwartzman is one of my favorite guys – he’s incredibly smart and sexy, and one of the biggest dreamboats around. I have yet to get my hands on an iPad, but when I do I guarantee I’ll be having as much fun as Jason is in this commercial. I’m really impressed by how he can move his eyes around like that.
Do you want to take a shower with Jason and his iPad?

Images from Refinery 29, see entire lookbook here.
Really digging The Lake & Stars spring 2011 lookbook. Entitled “Ritualized”, the story combines magical crystals, witchery and lingerie – 3 things I’ve definitely got going on in my bedroom. Photos depict a commune of lingerie clad ladies lighting candles, casting spells, and worshipping the almighty pyramid. I think this is one commune I’d definitely like to join.
What kind of wishes are you making with your magic crystals?

The Professor, made in a heavy camel colored coating wool

The Wayfarer Backpack, in a textured heather gray wool
If you are looking for the perfect fall tote or backpack, look no further then the designs by Sketchbook, an amazing Etsy shop I stumbled upon. I prefer classic designs rather than fleeting trends and quality materials are a must. These bags offer looks inspired by the early 1900s and combine both wool, linen, cotton and leather. Each bag is completely unique or very limited edition, the only remaining constant between them are the materials used.
Of course I must say I also love that this line was started by two cool girls who met in college, one of them who studied sheep’s wool in New Zealand. Radical.
Visit their shop here.

Why hello Devendra Banhart for Oliver Peoples 2011. Sure, I was devastated months ago when I saw that your beard had been shaved, but that doesn’t mean I’d turn my back on you my sexy-bohemian-love-maker.
Shot by photographer Lisa Eisner at John Lautner’s 1961 creation, the Garcia (Rainbow) House, Devendra and real-life girlfriend Rebecca Schwartz play it cool in this SoCal setting thus creating what Oliver Peoples calls a “a distinct vibe that was completely natural and unforced.” The Oliver Peoples 2010 campaign will debut in October and the short film will be released in installments staring November 1st.
How much would you like to cuddle up with Devendra on a shag rug?

Don’t I look totally Facts of Life in this photo? Living it up with Sam (Sosupersam), Joanne (Les Morceaux), and Jaclyn & Chelsea (No Subject L.A.) at HBO’s launch of Boardwalk Empire. Any tv show that stars Steve Buscemi, Michael Pitt, Michael K. Williams and Michael Shannon is obviously going to be amazing. We got a little taste of what’s to come and I’m so pumped!
Might I advise all parties to have some kind of photo booth like this one that produced mug shots.
